2 by 4 Artists Group - Plus exhibitions by local artists John Wakefield and Richard Tingley

2 by 4 was established in 1984 with a dedicated aim: to support the role of artists, living and working in the area; and to advance appreciation of, participation in and supporting for the visual arts on the part of the public in the South East arts region. 2 by 4 are a non-profit making organisation providing affordable studio spaces for artists, holding exhibitions and talks, arranging children’s after school art clubs, social events, adult workshops and even undertaking community and public art projects. In October this year, following their past success, they will be running their 3rd Big Draw event which you can find out more about by visiting their exhibition at the Horsham Community Festival.

Horsham Painting Group

The Horsham Painting Group was formed in the early 1960’s and has been thriving ever since. Their Spring and Autumn Exhibitions, which are held in the Town Hall (free entry), provide an opportunity for everyone to view and purchase original works by the group’s members. The Group meets every Tuesday evening during term time from 7:15-9:30pm at the Forest School in Compton Lane. All abilities are welcome for workshops and painting evenings, as well as demonstrations, and anyone interested in finding out more should contact Sylvia Graves (Membership Secretary) on 01403 263105. A selection of some of their work will also be on display in the Town Hall for the Festival and you can take the opportunity to view this during the published Exhibition viewing times.
